But if, perhaps, you were afflicted during the recent pandemic or otherwise suffered a loss in your sense of taste due to a horrible accident, I suppose you might mistakenly identify this as being almond-flavoured. I would grant that the smell is a bit reminiscent of marzipan. Otherwise, this matcha tastes as advertised and I really enjoyed it. Personally, I definitely pick up pistachio rather than almond. It brings a creamy and rich quality to the matcha that is very pleasant. I enjoy mine as an iced soy latte. Surprisingly, I actually preferred the pistachio over the banana matcha that I ordered at the same time. It is incredible! I love pistachio anything and this definitely tastes like pistachio.. I don&rsquo;t know why other reviews are saying it tastes like almond.. I don&rsquo;t get that at all. Either way - makes an amazing hot latte with a little bit of honey. I used the entire bag in 3 days.. came back to buy more and it&rsquo;s sold out!! Unfortunately, it does not taste or smell like pistachio, instead it smells super strong of almond. Taste wise, is also almond, and I have to add some sweetener to balance it out. If you like almond flavours, you will indeed like this!
