They're certainly not the worst cups I've ever had, but I did get the chemical smell and taste that took a lot of washing to get rid of, although it never did fully go away. If I'm drinking something flavored it's fine but drinking water tastes gross. The lids can be tough to snap on properly, it almost seems like they just rest on top until you really push down and then they snap on properly. Also the straws are supposed to have a curve and only 3 of mine do? Obviously doesn't impede function it's just weird. First of all the smell from them is bad and tends to blend with the taste of the tea. Second, some of them the lid won't close properly, no matter what you do. And third, the lettering on some started peeling off and becoming all sticky! And yes, I hand-washed them. Seems like the protective layer was not on all of them. I used them one each color and never used them again. (not measured) so a decent amount for a drink on a hot day. They're made of ridged plastic that does colour change the logo, not the entire cup, with cold liquid as advertised in the pictures: Teal with yellow logo, green with pink logo, yellow with teal logo, and pink with dark blue logo. The straws are also ridged colour changing plastic that all turn a darker shade when in contact with cold liquid. The first few uses were magical with the colour-changing effects. After a few hand washes the white paint started to chip off or almost 'melt' into a gummy substance that never dried again, ruining the pristine logo. Plus no matter how many times I washed the inside I could never get the HEAVY chemical smell out that I would expect from a brand new utensil or dish that would disappear after a wash or two. The smell wouldn't bother me too much if it didn't make everything I consumed from these cups TASTED like that plasticky, chemical smell. My grandchildren ask for these teas too on the onset of a cold. They really work! Chocolate Chilli Chai and Chocolate Macaroon are great for an afternoon pick-me-up. The Chai is a little spicy and the Chocolate Macaroon is like a dessert, only the calorie count is much lower! I always enjoy my David&rsquo;s Teas and this time, there was a bonus, a set of free Cold Cups and Lids, just in time for the first day of summer! My grandchildren love them! I had hoped that David's Tea would have resolved this by now but they must have a warehouse full of these cups.
