But if, perhaps, you were afflicted during the recent pandemic or otherwise suffered a loss in your sense of taste due to a horrible accident, I suppose you might mistakenly identify this as being almond-flavoured. I would grant that the smell is a bit reminiscent of marzipan. Otherwise, this matcha tastes as advertised and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it does not taste or smell like pistachio, instead it smells super strong of almond. Taste wise, is also almond, and I have to add some sweetener to balance it out. If you like almond flavours, you will indeed like this!
