love at first flush
Rich & complex, Organic David’s Darjeeling was specially selected then carefully blended to ensure the perfect balance. Aromatic woodsy leaves steep a golden brisk liquor while unique & refreshing mountain air notes mingle with a hint of the classic Darjeeling muscatel flavour—like an ever so fresh breath of mountain air on a chill morning. Truly the champagne of teas.
What makes it great:
- -This delicate tea is a First Flush Darjeeling, a type of Darjeeling that’s harvested during the first picking of the spring season.
- -Often served with dainty finger sandwiches and sweet treats; Darjeeling teas are a popular staple of traditional Afternoon and High Tea.
- -Skip the milk! This blend tastes delicious on its own.

This was unlike any black tea I have had previously, more similar to what I typically expect from a white tea or even certain green varietals. The aroma before steeping is indeed very woodsy, like a forest in spring time, with a hint of sweetness reminiscent of snow peas. The leaves turn green when steeped, and the liquor is a deep amber hue. Once steeped, there is also a subtle maltiness evident both in flavour and aroma. Overall, this is much more delicate than most black teas with a complex flavour profile that rewards slow sipping -- more of an afternoon black than a morning black.

I am a huge fan of darjeeling and was sadly disappointed by this blend. It is not a black tea, it is more like a green tea and if steeped per the usual time it becomes bitter. I thought at first that they had sent me the wrong tea!
