spice it up
This organic Assam black tea with Saigon cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves and pink peppercorns is on another level of delicious. In the 19s, Saigon cinnamon was one of the finest spices on the market. But then came the Vietnam War, and exports ground to a halt. Now it’s comeback time. Try this dark, sweet perfection as a spicy iced tea, Viet-style, with sweetened condensed milk.
What makes it great
In India, “chai” just means “tea” and “masala” means “spiced” – so the real name for a spiced tea is a “masala chai.”
Potent Saigon Cinnamon has the most cinnamon oil of any spice.

Simply Delicious
My favourite tea for several years now has been David’s Tea Organic Chai. In recent months, I have not been able to find it neither in-store nor online. I have also not been able to determine after multiple inquiries whether it has been discontinued or not. Fortunately, while I was in-store recently, a kind employee suggested I try Organic Saigon Chai as an alternative. I was very hesitant at first, believing that it couldn’t possibly replace my long time favourite chai. However, I was very pleased to discover that, with a small amount of condensed milk, it is simply delicious. I look forward to having a cup each day and it is even an alternative some mornings to my favourite cup of coffee.

Extremely wasteful packaging.
Interesting combo of flavours but DT's has obviously very little consideration for the environment (and "organic" simply a selling mechanism) since customers receive small 50 gr packages no matter the volume they order. So my 250 grams of tea came in 5 packages. Such wastefulness is just sad and totally unnecessary -> hence the 3 stars for a tea I would have otherwise rated 5 stars.
While it might reflect DT's commitment to speed, I'd be happy to receive my order a day+ later if that would eliminate the surplus packaging.
And yes, this is a general observation and also concerns all other flavours/teas. :(

I first received Saigon Chai as a gift and it sat on the shelf for a few months before I tried a cup. It reminds me of a musala chai I make occasionally. The musala chai took me a half out to make using ingredients I purchased in bulk. The Saigon Chai mix has eliminated the work involved with making the musala chai without giving up any of the taste and without the need to keep a variety of ingredients on hand.
Now I can make and enjoy a cup tea whenever I like without having to make a two litre pot of musala chai.

Hi Dogma North! Great question. Though there is a lot of overlap between the spices in both blends, Organic Kashmiri Chai has a more pronounced note of cardamom, while Organic Saigon Chai has a more balanced ratio of spices. We hope this helps—happy steeping! 🍵
