Oh, honey honey

Our Honey Black tea is a seriously special treat. To create this luxurious and flavourful premium black tea from the east coast of Taiwan, each gold-tipped leaf is hand-plucked and twisted, for a stunning tea that looks just as beautiful as it tastes. Our favourite part? A sweet and lingering hint of dark honey in every sip. Now that is sweet.

What makes it great:

  • This premium black tea is hand-made with a beautiful twisted leaf style with golden tips.
  • Black tea is high in caffeine, meaning it’s packed with energizing benefits that’ll help boost alertness.
  • Black tea production in Taiwan is very limited—we were very lucky to get our hands on this tea.

This tea has absolutely no honey aroma, fragrance, notes, or flavour, not even subtly. It is a lovely straight black tea, and re-steeps very well. However, it really shouldn't be called called &quot;honey black&quot; just a strong black tea. I had three other people drink it, without telling them the name, to see if any of them could discern the honey note, and not a single one tasted it either. If you want a straight black tea, consider this, though it is a bit pricey for that. Definitely don't use the &quot;honey&quot; as a deciding factor.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2020-11-30</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2020-11-30" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="253237818"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">5</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">Teamaster99</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">Like Black Satin in a Mug</span> <span itemprop="description">What is there to say about Honey Black? It's one of the finest black teas I've had in years. A subtle yet tender punch to the nether regions. It sneaks up on you like Santa Claus in the night. Unassuming rich tannins pour from the tea leaves to envelope your tastebuds with a flavour smoother than Barry White whispering lullabies to a newborn. He was right, I cannot get enough of this love. While on the pricier end of the spectrum, it's worth the cost you save in having to cut through the bitterness of other sub-par wanna-teas. Drinkable straight up without the bitter tinge at the end of a cupping will make you wonder where this tea has been all these years and whether or not you have any siblings you don't know about. Five stars for this tea, it's on constant rotation like Lou Bega and his mistresses.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2021-12-30</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2021-12-30" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="227516455"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">5</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">Anonymous</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">Great Straight Tea</span> <span itemprop="description">This is one of my favorite straight teas from David's, the other being Phoenix Oolong. It really is honeyed and naturally sweet. A really smooth cup, and it also resteeps well. It's really too bad I can't get it regularly, so I stock up whenever I see it on the shelves, and drink sparingly. I wish David's released more straight teas, rather than the ones with all the sprinkles and whatnot.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2019-12-20</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2019-12-20" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="231602632"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">4</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">Sweet.vidalia</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">Not bitter....better</span> <span itemprop="description">I was looking for a plain black tea for mornings that was smooth and simple. I find a lot of black teas can have a bitterness to them after steeping so I was very happy to see this one did not have that. This tea is rich but has a nice hint of honey. It's not sweet but aromatic. I will use one perfect spoon and get a couple of mugs of tea. The leaves resteep very well. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is for the price point.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2020-05-02</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2020-05-02" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="230423533"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">5</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">Newfie Tea Drinker</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">Perfection!</span> <span itemprop="description">The few years that I&rsquo;ve been buying tea from Davids, I typically only ever bought the heavily flavoured teas. About two months ago, I stopped by the store in St. John&rsquo;s and had the best chat with a worker. She turned me on to black teas (her preference) and I just ended up loving the few that I picked up to try. This one is my very favourite tea ever!! I put the smallest drop of cream in it, just because I love cream in tea. I watch the steep time carefully, though, as I find it bitter if steeped too long.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2020-03-29</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2020-03-29" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="229139707"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">5</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">AnonymousTeaFan</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">My favourite straight black tea</span> <span itemprop="description">I like a good strong cup of black tea instead of coffee and Honey Black delivers. Lol &lt;/3). The honey black is not acidic (unlike the irish), has a good strong black tea flavour and the honey taste and fragrance are DIVINE. Its an incredibly well balanced tea you can have black or, if you&rsquo;re like me, with a teaspoon of honey and splash of oat milk.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2020-11-28</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2020-11-28" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="239324257"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">5</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">VanFan</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">Fantastic - say yes!!</span> <span itemprop="description">Amazing flavour!! This beautifully long-curled tea has personaliy and a distinctly unique taste without being necessarily bold. It's kind of halfway between a bright Orange Pekoe and a dark Nepal or Assam, and is not a rounded flavour but rather like a focused shot of delicious tea-ness. Definitely up there as a new favourite!! Don't be afraid of the &quot;honey&quot; description, it isn't in-your-face at all but rather contributes to that clear and unique flavour that this has.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2020-12-02</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2020-12-02" /> </div> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> if (document.getElementById('bvseo-reviewsSection')) { document.getElementById('bvseo-reviewsSection').style.display = 'none'; } </script> <!--end-reviews--> <!--begin-pagination--> <ul id="bvseo-paginationSection"> <li class="bvseo-paginationItem"><a class="bvseo-paginationLink" href="https://www.davidstea.com/ca_en/shop/honey-black-tea/10530DT01VAR0029490.html?bvstate=pg:2/ct:r">Honey Black Tea Reviews - page 2</a></li> </ul> <!--end-pagination--> <ul id="BVSEO_meta" style="display:none!important"> <li data-bvseo="bvDateModified">y_2023, m_12, d_5, h_8</li> <li data-bvseo="ps">bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.37</li> <li data-bvseo="cp">cp_1, bvpage1</li> <li data-bvseo="co">co_hasreviews, tv_257, tr_175</li> <li data-bvseo="cf">loc_en_CA, sid_10530DT01VAR0029490, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=RELEVANCE, direction=DESCENDING)]</li> <li data-bvseo="diagnostics">clientName_davidstea</li> </ul> <!--end-bvseo-reviews--> <ul id="BVSEOSDK_meta" style="display: none !important;"> <li data-bvseo="sdk">bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0</li> <li data-bvseo="sp_mt">CLOUD, getReviews, 6ms</li> <li data-bvseo="ct_st">reviews, product</li> </ul>
