Nestled in the wilderness and shallow waterways of Northern Canada is where manoomin (meaning wild rice in Ojibwe) is hand-harvested. In homage to this ancient Indigenous tradition, DAVIDsTEA x Tea Horse come together to bring you Manoomin Maple—a cozy blend of roasted manoomin, light maple and vanilla. Founded in 2017, Tea Horse is a woman-led Indigenous artisanal tea company located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe Peoples.

I bought this tea a few days ago. The tea is very nice and smells amazingly but too sweet. I was looking forward to this tea and the tin because it’s Canadian and run by indigenous people.
I would prefer more maple flavour in this tea but overall is very nice and smooth… and again an amazing smell.
The tin on the other hand … big disappointment. First the label is actually a stick on and had not been applied evenly on the regular David’s grey tin. And the label
had already been peeling off before I opened the package.
Tried to stick it on again but did not work.

Classic Canadian flavours
I really love this tea with just a bit of maple syrup (the darker the better) added to help bring home the smoky maple flavour. The berries add a slight tartness, but with the maple sugar and vanilla the overall effect is a natural sweetness contrasted against the roasted rice base. There is something very traditionally Canadian about this tea blend with its locally sourced ingredients that I particularly enjoy; it reminds me of northern Canada. I have bought a few bags now - one was a little light on the berries, which was disappointing - so I hope David's keeps this one around.

Absolutely Delicious! My new fav morning tea
I had a sample of this tea in store and I was blown away by the taste. It's lightly sweet but not fruity. It's a delicious tea to have in the morning. I am super picky about my teas but I loved this one. The only down side is the insane price... I was shocked to see it was almost double the average price of other David's tea. Sad to say it will have to be a "treat" tea since I can't afford to have it everyday!

The best of both worlds!
For those who know me well, I am a huge tea lover, but I also love wild rice, which is one of my favourite foods. Combining the two is brilliant, it's like the best of both worlds! If you think about it, Genmaicha tea has regular rice, and I wonder, was this inspired by that? Either way, this was definitely my cup of tea! Not only did I enjoy the taste, but also love what this tea stands for and what it helps support. I just finished the bag and I would definitely buy it again! Thank you for this unique gem of a tea!

A New Favourite of Mine!
I love maple and blueberries, so I just had to try this. I hope it's around for awhile because it's delicious. It's smooth and soothing, slightly sweet but thankfully without stevia (if it were stevia & monkfruit, to cut the bitterness of stevia it would be fine). Although there are lots of berries, the vanilla mostly covers the flavour of them. Regardless, if you like maple syrup and vanilla, you'll likely love this tea.

Great Tea, Disappointing Tin
The tea is excellent. I love the collab and as an Indigenous person I love the wild rice adding a toasty flavour. Mixed with the sweet maple and blueberry, it makes for a great tea.
Only thing I'm disappointed with is the tin - amazing artwork but it's a sticker and on both my tins the sticker was a bit misplaced so it's not quite sitting on the tin right and held on with scotch tape. Just makes it seem like it won't last that long.

I like the fact that this tea is sustainably grown, Canadian, and run by indigenous people. The tea: the flavor and character are unique, likable, and refreshingly light. The maple flavor is not overwhelming as it sometimes can be. Is it one of my favorites? No Would I order it again? Yes Would I recommend it to my friends? Yes

Hi FoxTea! We're so glad to hear that you're enjoying Manoomin Maple as much as we are. 😊 This blend is currently only available in the iconic tin format. We'd be happy to share your interest in a loose leaf option with our tea-m! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. 🍁
