<span itemprop="description">I love this little thing -- it's convenient, easy to use, and works exactly as advertised. I've used it at least daily for my morning cup for the last couple of months and haven't had any problems with it. It is worth noting, though, that you cannot steep the tea for long in it: because the water is in direct contact with the tea itself, with no barriers like with a tea ball, the tea inside takes no time at all to go from delicious to undrinkably bitter -- something I had to learn the hard way on my first couple of cups. But, having figured that out, I have no problems or complaints about my steeper. Super-happy that I got it, money very well spent!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I bought this product about 8 months ago, throughout those 8 months I have had ZERO problems with this product. I drink around 3 to 4 teas a day, not including the ones my family has me make for them and this product makes it so much easier for me to brew loose leaf tea. With some products that I have bought with other companies, the tea will go through the strainer and then you have little bits of the tea leaves floating around. With this product, there is absolutely no leakage or problems with bits of tea falling through. I 100% think that any regular tea maker should invest in this product, it will make your life 10x easier.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I got this a few weeks ago and this completely changed the tea game for me. For years I've just drunk from wonky tea bags from the grocery store, with little flavor or nuance. But a couple of years ago I got into loose leaf tea, and have tried different tea balls, strainers, cups, french presses, and most of those left particles in my cup and didn't strain the tea effectively. This steeper is amazing! It picks up every bit of residue and doesn't let it through. I've tried all sorts of tea in there, Argentinan maté, finely ground Thai tea, other companies' black tea, and all of it is perfectly strained. You need it!</span>

This one not only works the best and is easiest to use and clean, I get more flavor from the loose tea using this steeper than any other one. <span itemprop="description">I loved this steeper at first, but I've purchased two of these steepers and both have broken beyond repair after only a couple uses. The plastic that holds the bottom part on is very thin, and will break from a very short fall. This would be a great product if it wasn't so flimsy.</span>

I've had this for a while now, and while it still works pefectly, it has collected a layer of buildup. Esp. in the filter. I've cleaned it, but would like to know if anyone has a recommendation. Also, is there an estimate for how long these should last?

Denture cleaner tablets are also very effective. I put two in very hot water and let my steeper soak overnight. It takes out the tea stains. &nbsp;

I used to work in a DT store about 5 years ago, and we put the steepers in the industrial dishwasher/sterilizer all the time and they came out fine. That being said, since they aren't recommended for dishwasher use it's up to you if you are willing to risk it or not. Do note that you can pull out the filter mesh part for better cleaning! Fair warning that it's not the easiest to put back together without a bit of practice.

I know it says not dishwasher safe. And, since I am suddenly trying as a mid-40 something person to follow at least a FEW rules, I have not done so. But it is getting sort of stained and covered in buildup. Does anyone have cleaning tips?

It seems odd, but it works beautifully: sprinkle liberally with baking soda, spray down with original windex, then swirl it a few times, for the combination to do its thing, then rinse with hot water. It only takes a few seconds and works very well.

For a latte I always steep my tea first in water, and foam the milk separately - just as you would for a caffe latte. &nbsp;You wouldn't put the coffee grounds in milk! I definitely make the tea stronger (more leaves, more time), but always always always make the tea, add it to the steamed milk. &nbsp;All of that said, there is no reason that you couldn't pour hot milk on your tea leaves in this steeper. You would just need to be extra cautious about cleaning it carefully.

I've been making coffee in this for the past two months. The first few times the coffee smelled like tea. Now the flavor is fine (although perhaps a little metallic) and the only thing that bugs me slightly are the tiny little drinkable grounds seep through the filter. But it totally works and has been less of a hassle than a normal coffee maker (can't speak to a french press).
