It looks really cute and sturdy and fits right into my tea cupboard, and is almost too pretty to really use. I initially bought this to give away as a gift but then changed my mind because I liked it too much. The tins are really cute and seal nicely, and while a part of me doesn’t want to open and use them at all, another part of me can’t wait to use them for future tea blends. The box will definitely stay also, and I love the thought and creativity that went into this design. I took photos before using any of the tins so they’d still look full and pretty for reviews. I also re-sorted them to be the same order as the list on the left, because previously they were sorted more like the list on the back of the box, which was a bit confusing to me. Blueberry Vanilla: Rating: 5/5 The Blueberry Vanilla tin smells exactly as the name implies, and very sweet. The main ingredient on the list as well as in the tin is candied pineapple, then the berries, and it smells delicious. My first thought was: If this tastes just half as good as it smells, I’m going to love this blend. Each tin holds enough for 1 hot tea and 1 tea latte/iced tea/iced tea latte. I did both, and even steeped each blend twice, and was surprised by how well it all worked out. It’s a very sweet tea and tastes of wild berries with (vanilla) cream. The box recommended serving this as iced tea latte, and I second that! It tasted like a blueberry milkshake. Chocolate Rocket: Rating: 3.5/5 I was surprised by how fruity it smells. I was expecting a chocolate-centered tea, and while it does still smell like chocolate, the berry, in my tin, definitely overwhelmed everything else. (Which threw me off a bit, since the only berry in here is raspberry and natural and artificial raspberry flavor, and on the list, they are fairly far down??) I made a tea latte first with 4 generous scoops and oat-soy milk. It steeped a nice chestnut-like color and smelled of raspberry and something nutty which reminded vaguely of chocolate. The first few sips had me check the back of the box to see the ingredients list again, trying to pinpoint the flavor. It’s not exactly chocolate, but also not unlike chocolate? Kind of difficult to describe. Maybe my mix simply had too much raspberry in it, but the berry note is definitely still there and takes away from the promised chocolate. It’s still a nice tasting tea, just not what I expected it to be. I like to think I can taste the maté a little bit, which does give the tea a little plus, because I love it when tea still has a distinct tea-flavor to it. I’ll make a normal hot tea at a later point with my last 1.5 spoonsful of this blend and see how that goes. But for now, I’ll say it’s decent, just not as expected. Easter Earl Grey: Rating: 2/5 It smells so nice and floral!! It also looks very pretty and colorful thanks to the cornflower petals and sugar sprinkles. I kind of thought this would be a black tea because Earl Grey, but instead it’s a fruit infusion. (In this case, it’s my own fault though, because the very first ingredients are apple and sugar sprinkles lol). After steeping it as a hot tea (remember, this has hibiscus in it, so DON’T add any milk!!) the most dominant taste was that of candy or fondant. I was hoping to have more of those floral notes as the tin had me believe, but it was really just…sweet. Not really mine, but interesting to try! Pink Velvet Cake: Rating: 3/5 The Pink Velvet Cake looks rather unassuming in its tin, and while it has the mildest scent of all of them, the scent itself is very pleasant. I think it smells mostly like vanilla and a hint of white chocolate, and personally I smelled no berries whatsoever in the whiffs I took of the tin. The first listed ingredient is pineapple, but there aren’t that many pineapple bits in my tin, so maybe that’s just how mine ended up as, while others are way different. I made it as a hot tea as per the recommendation on the book box, and it steeped nicely, and was okay for a second steep also. Generally, it smelled very sweet, kind of chocolate-y, and the berries were finally coming through, though I can’t say I connected the smell (or taste) with velvet cake. It doesn’t quite taste like chocolate, white or other, but there’s something there that does remind of chocolate and vanilla, and there is that bit of fruity tartness in it which I personally thought complimented the rest of the flavors of this tea. All in all it was okay, just mostly sweet and I had a really rough time really figuring out what I was tasting. Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait: Rating: 4/5 The Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait didn’t look how I pictured it at all, but it does smell just as one might expect. The strawberry and rhubarb scent is absolutely mouthwatering, and this is coming from somebody who is not that fond of either haha. I used a generous 4 scoops for iced tea, as per the recommendation. It steeps nicely to a dark red color and smells like strawberries and a bit like rhubarb. Taste-wise, it’s more on the sour side than sweet, and tastes very fruity like berries, and again a little bit like rhubarb. For my wife, I added a spoonful of brown sugar during the second steep since she prefers sweet over sour, and that worked perfectly for her. Since this blend has hibiscus in it, I couldn’t add any milk, but we did experiment and added some oat-soy milk to the third steep, which turned out surprisingly amazing! It makes the tea creamier and reminds of strawberry yogurt with rhubarb. Vanilla Cappuccino: Rating: 3/5 The tin smells wonderfully like coffee, and a bit like apples. I also had this as a 50g baggie and didn’t like the smell of that because the apple overpowered everything else, but the tin smells much more like coffee, so I was hyped to try this in the hopes it would be better than the baggie I had. Since there were roughly 4 perfect spoonsful of tea in the tin, I used the entirety for a tea latte as per recommendation. It DID end up tasting more like coffee and less like apple (unlike the separate baggie) and had a nuttier taste to it, so that was a pleasant surprise. (Also, since I was apprehensive of trying this tea again, I’m glad I did give it another chance.) As such, I’d say this tea CAN be really good, but only if the composition is just right! Who would I recommend this set to? I’d recommend this set to anyone who needs a gift for someone who likes fruit infusions and fruit-focused teas, and/or to people who would like to try something new. It’s also a good set for people who would like to try different flavors without committing to the 50g baggies of each of the tea blends. (Just remember that these are all very sweet.)
Date published: 2022-08-28

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kdhenry from Good sampler. Favorite:Chocolate Rocket. Will that be avail soon?
Date published: 2023-01-25

y_2024, m_5, d_9, h_5

bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.42

cp_1, bvpage1

co_hasreviews, tv_1, tr_2

loc_en_US, sid_961973US01, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=RELEVANCE, direction=DESCENDING)]

clientName_davidstea

bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0

CLOUD, getReviews, 9ms

reviews, product
