Pumpkin Earl Grey Tea

I would never think to mix the two together. I took a chance on ordering this and I'm so glad I did. It's not too Earl Grey-y, and not too pumpkin-y. The flavors balance one another for a brew that strikes the right balance of sweet, spice, floral, and clean/fresh. Almost like Chai meets Earl Grey, but with pumpkin. I think it's a nice new addition to the Fall offerings from David's Tea. It has a lovely earl grey flavor but for me, the pumpkin needs to be stronger. I mostly mix my own blends, making sure I add vanilla almond tea to any flavor I concoct. SO seeing this combination sparked my interest immediately. BUT I was very disappointed. I barely taste pumpkin let alone vanilla and possibly it is because the earl grey blend is too much? Not really sure because I have an earl gray with vanilla and lavender blend that I can taste each flavor independently and as a creamy blended flavor. It was just less than expected all the way around. I wasn&rsquo;t sure what to make of the pumpkin earl grey. It&rsquo;s not pumpkin spice, it&rsquo;s earl grey, but it somehow blends the autumnal pumpkin spice essence into a delicious earl grey. This is a great tea for any time, it&rsquo;s smooth and pleasant and my fianc&eacute; and I both love it! Most pumpkin teas are overwhelmed with vanilla and/or fake pumpkin flavor but that is not the case here. The vanilla and cinnamon lend some earthiness that balances out the bergamot oil. Then the (real!!) pumpkin and cardamom rounds this out for a cup full of perfect fall flavor. I would never have thought pumpkin would work well in an Earl Grey tea but it&rsquo;s pretty great. This is one of the few Earl Greys I can drink without needing milk (though it&rsquo;s also great as a latte or just with a splash of milk). Thank you, David&rsquo;s, for bringing this one back again! I'm looking for a full-bodied flavor in an early grey and this tea was not that. It's possible that I needed to use more leaves, but a full perfect spoon and steep should be enough to flavor a full Nordic mug. But I gave it a shot and boy am I glad I did! The warm spices make this more like a spiced chai than a straight up Earl Grey (it actually tastes like a drink a cafe near me calls tiger tea).
