I bought my first steeper in January 2020. I loved being able to steep large quantities at once for iced teas or to make several hot teas for the whole family. Unfortunately, it broke a few months later while gently removing the parts that can come off to wash it. I was bummed. I waited a month or so and ordered a second one in May. I have been super careful taking it apart and washing it, but yet again the bottom piece snapped. The plastic is just not sturdy enough for repeated use and taking apart for cleaning. I use it everyday and make delicious iced tea It's easy to clean and the center filter pops right out. My only problem is that the center filter has collected a piece of the green tea leaves inside the plastic frame which cannot be cleaned out. It's a small amount now but over time that can lead to mold and then it will be useless. After letting the tea steep for 4:30, and deposit it into the teapot, I add 4 oz more, and four oz more and that fills my teapot. The steeper does stain, and it is not possible to clean out the brown tinge from the tea after a few months of use. No amount of scrubbing with soap or baking soda or Bon Ami will remove the tea stains. After six years of daily use, my first 32 oz steeper was very brown, but it still worked very well. Now I can brew my tea in one go for work, and enjoy the rest at home. The see-through design helps see the amounts left and richness of the steeping efforts. It is a bit challenging to clean. The coaster the it sits on has a shallow lip. Love the size but unfortunately, the lid is very difficult to remove for cleaning. When you do try to remove it, it breaks. Simple to use, not messy, and easy to clean as long as you don't let the leaves sit inside and dry after you pour the tea out.
