One was barely noticeable. Like other reviewers have said, all of the mugs have a PUNGENT artificial plasticky aroma. I soaked them overnight in a water-and-distilled-white-vinegar solution. They still reeked the next morning. I gave them to a friend (not without warning; I'm not a monster) and apparently a second overnight soak in vinegar and water did the trick. But they're not dishwasher-safe, for color-changing reasons. So like. Unfortunately, while they are a great size &amp; comfortable in the hand, they make your beverage taste like plastic. No matter how many times I've washed them or the type of beverage I put in them the last 1/3 of the beverage had a STRONG plastic taste. I even got a bit of a sore throat after trying to use them for a few days to see if the plastic taste would fade.
