I have it in a few colors and even have a mini matcha maker. I’m a huge fan. I have read reviews about clumping and it’s something I’ve only noticed when the matcha going in is clumpy. I sometimes use a tea infuser ball to sift the matcha in to my cup, but I saw someone else on here recommending to pass it through the filter of the cup to break up clumps before adding water, and I’ll be trying that too. Sifting the matcha powder in then adding water to the line has worked well for me. Drinking out of the cup can be a little awkward due to the size of the lip around the cup, but overall I absolutely love my matcha makers.
Date published: 2021-05-06

Rated 4 out of 5 by AmberJ from Good product, not perfect - Tips for clumping I agree with the reviews that the lid needs to have some kind of texture because it is very difficult to screw off, especially after the heat builds because it forces the lid on tighter. I find for clumping it helps if you have the mesh strainer already on. Put the matcha directly on the mesh strainer and gently tap the side of the matcha maker to let the match strain through. There will most likely be some little balls or clumps of matcha. I just push it through the strainer with my finger or the back side of a spoon. This helps to prevent clumps. Then I pour in the hot water. Don't just put the matcha power in to the cup so it settles on the bottom, because this will guarantee clumps. I use traditional matcha by the way. This is way better than the method I used to use of blending it in a blender. The only other gripe I have is that I wish there was another lid that came with it for drinking. The mesh isn't terrible but it can get messy if not careful.
Date published: 2020-01-10

Rated 1 out of 5 by Shilps from Many issues I bought this a couple of years ago and every time i take it out of the cabinet i am reminded of its many issues. 1) It does not remove matcha clumps, rather they get lodged between the side of the tumbler and the mixing attachment. 2) It is difficult to clean, and match granules get stuck in the ridges where the attachments screw on. The tall narrow shape makes it difficult to reach the bottom to clean. 3) scratches easily which causes the finish to dull 4) If using for loose leaf tea, you have to fill it quite a bit for the water to reach the tea leaves, and then must take apart the top to remove the section that holds the tea laves after you are done steeping. I would not recommend. I want to throw mine away but I don't want to be wasteful.
Date published: 2020-11-15

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kate Emory from Great idea; Poor Execution I wanted to like this teal matcha maker so much, but I should have listened to the other reviews. I was excited to have a loose leaf tea/match-making combo in my favorite hue, so I purchase it anyway. Alas, I have grown to look at it with distain and use it out of resentment. Conceptually it is really strong; the design is lacking. First, in its primary function as an insulated thermos, it fails. Miserably. Not even a D+. Everything is lukewarm within minutes. Stability is also an issue. The bottom has a little grip on it and curved sides that essentially invite accidents. As far as bonus features, as a matcha maker it provides the smallest of frothing; in terms of loose leaf tea, the top is challenging to unscrew and you are always drinking through a net. But it had some potential! Go back to the drawing board and bring us a better prototype!
Date published: 2021-03-15

Rated 5 out of 5 by aweeks1 from I love this thing! I bought this over a year ago during my first trip to Canada with my husband and I love it! I don't really use the matcha attachment, but the infuser is nice. I do with that the part that has the mesh was easier to unscrew, but the fact that I can make iced tea and take it on the go with me makes up for it. My trick for avoiding overflowing is to put the infuser in first and then run water through the mesh to fill it. Also, if adding ice, don't fill above the line.
Date published: 2020-03-23

Rated 3 out of 5 by Archergrl5 from Some design issues I've used this a few times now to make matcha at work. It's a good idea but kinda disappointing in use. The filter portion is hard to unscrew. It should have had a wider ring or at least some texture for grip. The screen has a lip around it that catches a little bit of liquid which will then leak out when you push the pressure release button after reshaking it.
Date published: 2020-01-07

Rated 3 out of 5 by Cers91 from it doesn't work with Grand Cru Matcha I'm happy with how the product works with Vanilla Matcha but the performance with Grand cru matcha is terrible it doesn't mix well at all, this should be specified.
