If you're a lover of green tea, this rare sencha is for you. It comes from the stunning Ashikubo valley in Japan, and is dried the traditional way – using wood fires. The result is a detoxifying tea that’s milder and less grassy than regular senchas. Admirers point to its characteristic fruitiness and hint of toast from the firing process. Most say they can't go a day without it.
How it tastes:
Toasty, buttery and deliciously refreshing, with a light vegetal background
What makes it great:
● Need to focus? This green tea contains l-theanine which is said to help boost concentration.
● Dried the traditional way – using wood fires. This adds the hint of toastiness to the leaves.
2 oz of this tea makes around 10-12 16 oz cups of hot tea and 5-7 16 oz cups of iced tea.
