It&rsquo;s sweet, with a bit of spice. It&rsquo;s not too &ldquo;butterscotch-y&rdquo;, and I wasn&rsquo;t sure if I tasted the butterscotch on my initial sip..but it&rsquo;s there, just not overwhelming. The spice note is mild, as well. I taste the fruit more than any other flavors. I do not find it spice-forward at all. I didn't really get the caramel or butterscotch notes at all. I am an orphan of the Caramel Shortbread tea and I know that DavidsTEA can bring on the caramel, buttery notes when needed. I don't understand why this tea didn't deliver. I can&rsquo;t say I noticed a butterscotch flavor really, and the chai was very spicy to me. I particularly enjoy the cinnamon and cardamom in it. It's not quite butterscotch, though. It's got a little too much spice and acid (from the pineapple, mango, and papaya) to truly be butterscotch.
