Matcha packaged and sealed much earlier in the process might be better than what I received, but the matcha I bought in store was clumpy and noticeably bitter, maybe made more noticeable by the fact that I typically drink matcha just by itself - no sugar, milk, ice, flavorings, etc. Go with a company with a longer track record of processing, packaging, and SEALING its matcha, and opt for the ceremonial grade whenever possible if you prefer your matcha to stand alone as a tasty, vegetal, slightly sweet green tea. While I have not tasted any of the flavored matcha offerings from Davidstea, I suspect that sugar and flavorings are added because the matcha itself is low quality and not handled well. It was clumpy both times. This was the first David's Tea matcha I have bought but have had matcha powder from a different company in the past amd it was never clumpy. Unfortunately, no matter how I make it, it comes out clumpy and I end up dumping quite a bit of it down the drain as trying to drink the clumps makes me want to throw up. Every time I finish a cup of this, I want to go to my local coffee shop and get a clump-free matcha latte. I have purchased and love other matcha teas from David's. It is the best I have tasted, better than Starbucks. I make my own lattes every morning at home.
