Hand-plucked and sorted, this late-summer harvest green tea has a lively, fresh taste, with notes of sweet caramelized yellow squash, nutty roasted butter and corn silk. Our favourite part? It comes from Jun Chiyabari, a small Himalayan organic tea garden highly regarded for its sustainable farming practices and support of the local community. An organic green tea that tastes great AND gives back? We’re in love.
How it tastes:
Fresh and lively, with vibrant notes of caramelized squash, roasted butter and a sweet hint of corn silk
What makes it great:
● Warm days and cool mountain nights make the tea leaves grow slower, concentrating the oils in the leaf for a richer, more complex taste.
● Jun Chiyabari garden is renowned for its emphasis on tea quality and sustainable, organic farming practices.
● This garden is also a local leader in the empowerment of women – nearly 80% of the work force at Jun Chiyabari is female, from hand-picking to sorting, supervising and packing.
2 oz of this tea makes around 10-12 16 oz cups of hot tea and 5-7 16 oz cups of iced tea.
