It smelled pleasant, but very sweet and not as much of coffee/cappuccino as the name implied. Looking in the baggie, the first visible and most prominent ingredient is definitely apple, so no surprise there, but I had to admit I was expecting a few more coffee beans than what was actually in my blend. Maybe I just had bad luck though, it happens. As Hot Tea: I decided to make two steeps with the same scoop of tea, and while the first steep was very aromatic, the second was very weak. I tend to re-steep the majority of my teas, and don’t think I’ve ever had such a weak second steep. Taste-wise, the first steep was rather sweet but not overly so. The coffee-flavor was more of a background note than a prominent taste, and I had more of an apple taste all around, which I personally found a little disappointing. (Then again, I’m not a huge fan of apple-centric teas, so somebody who likes those might love this tea!) It still tastes good, but not nearly like a cappuccino. More like mixing some coffee into tea-water. After adding some milk (in this case, oat milk) the texture became even smoother, and the apple disappeared a bit in favor of more of that coffee bean flavor, which I much preferred. All in all a pleasant tea (with milk), good for kicking back and enjoying a few quiet minutes. Maybe good in the morning, but due to the little caffeine in it, maybe only when already awake or when caffeine isn’t necessary. As Tea Latte: I used the recommended 4 perfect spoons of loose-leaf tea to make two steeps of tea lattes with frothed oat milk. Thanks to the increased amount, the second steep ended up fine and only slightly milder than the first, which was an improvement to the hot tea try I had done previously. Thanks to the milk, the apple flavor is very faint, and the coffee comes through much stronger/better. It is still pleasantly sweet in both steeps, and has a very smooth texture. It reminds me of something nutty, but I can’t quite place what exactly it reminds me of. It certainly makes me a little nostalgic though. All in all a very pleasant tea. I’ll probably drink the rest of my 50g of this tea as tea lattes because the taste is just so much better, though it’s still decent as hot tea with a dash of milk. As Iced Tea Latte: I tried a third steep with the previous scoops for the tea lattes, just to get the most out of it. However, I wouldn’t recommend it, because the blend was reeeeeaaally weak and mild, and despite not adding that much frothed milk, it tasted more like milk with tea-flavor, than tea with milk. Still, it tasted decent, and I think it would taste just as great as the hot tea latte if you were to use the first steep for it. Personally, I think I prefer it as the hot tea latte though. Who would I recommend this tea to? Somebody who enjoys apple-dominant teas, or alternatively someone who drinks mostly tea lattes. This tea would probably be great for people who don’t like a lot of caffeine in their teas but who still enjoy a nice if mild coffee-flavor. Or maybe people who can’t/don’t want to drink coffee but who would still like something akin to that. Afternote: I checked how many scoops were left, and after the 5.5 scoops I used to try the tea as hot tea and tea latte, I have roughly 5 full scoops left in the 50g baggie. So, 50g would roughly be 10-11 perfect spoons, and as such not the 15-20 cups of tea // 10-15 cups of iced tea as estimated on this page. (Unless, of course, you re-steep each scoop a couple of times.) I'm not sure whether that's just a bug and is supposed to show up for the 100g or some other option, or whether they just calculated the amount differently, but I just wanna mention this for anybody else who might be wondering how much tea 50g will make.
Date published: 2022-08-02

Rated 2 out of 5 by gkm050 from High hopes fell short I have been intrigued by the coffee flavors at David's for awhile, and finally decided to go for it and try one. Unfortunately this did not hit the mark - I don't know if it was the stevia, but there is a syrupy after taste that feels artificial and lingers on the tongue in a way that I really didn't like (sort of like a bad diet coke). I adore the vanilla orchid oolong, so it's definitely not the vanilla... maybe I just need to stick to non-stevia teas from now on.
Date published: 2021-04-19

Rated 4 out of 5 by You’llHaveHadYourTeaThen from Hot Tea Drinker Review I know that this is being sold as an iced coffee tea drink, but I always drink my tea hot with milk so this is a review from that perspective. The flavor is light on this one. I felt it needed a half a scoop of regular black tea to actually have a flavor besides creamy. I’m not quite convinced in life that creamy is a flavor but I think that’s what David’s tea was going for with this because of the iced trend. It tastes creamy, a bit vanilla-y and a bit coffee-y. But I guess what I feel it lacks is a commitment to a strong note of something. I will drink the rest of the packet... will I order more? Maybe...maybe not. I guess I’m as committed to this tea as the tea is to a specific flavor..... not quite there...
Date published: 2021-06-20

Rated 3 out of 5 by IDG29 from Tea version I do like this tea. I really enjoy the coffee notes but more than anything I love the subtle flavor. It is not a bitter tea or a very sweet tea it is light and air on the pallet and fits my morning routine. First it is the smell as it steeps. Just like coffee the earthy tones fill the nose then it is the vanilla to open your eyes to make sure it is still tea you are brewing. I have actually confused people who thought I was making instant coffee or something when they saw me steeping my tea in the office lounge. I continue to come back to this tea over and over again.
