Good things are brewing in the Highlands of Nepal. Like this handmade black tea, a DAVIDsTEA exclusive from a family-owned tea garden named Jun Chiyabari. From the first sip you’ll notice the tea's rich, sweet, honey-like flavor. Even better? This little tea garden has set up a ton of community programs to benefit local schools, underprivileged families and the elderly. Now that’s good.

This tea reminds me of an Indian tea my parents used to buy when I was a little kid. It is incredibly reach in flavor and aroma with subtle hints of wild honey, herbs and fine cognac. Do yourself a favor and brew it properly: wash it with boiling water for 1-2 seconds, let it drain and then brew for 5 min at 210F in a pre-heated cast iron teapot covered with a towel to preserve the heat.

I find myself going back to it most often, followed by the Darjeeling and lastly the Honey Black.

Stunning Nepalese Showcase Tea
If you enjoy Indian and unflavored traditional teas - give this one a try! While Nepalese teas do not have the muscat notes of a Darjeeling, it is a good companion tea to try when you want a change from your Darjeeling or Assam teas. A quite good "any time of day" tea, it has lovely deep tones of honey and toast, with just a bit of bite. This is a very high-quality tea offering from David's Tea and well worth the price.
