Delicately smooth and velvety, with a bright green colour and refreshing taste, this is one of the highest grade (and most delicious) matchas on earth. To make it, every vein is lovingly removed from green tea leaves, which are then ground into a superfine matcha powder that whisks into an impossibly creamy brew. The ultimate energy boost, detoxifier and treat-yourself tea.
This matcha green tea powder comes packed in a printed tea tin that's giftable too!

The tea is great. Love the flavor. But I was pretty aggravated with the packaging. When I opened it, a decent amount of the tea went everywhere because some of the powder was outside of the seal. This stuff isnt cheap, so that was pretty upsetting.

Good taste, doesn't mix well
While this matcha has a nice taste, I have found that it is more difficult to properly mix and I am left with more little clumps at the bottom. I use an electric handheld whisker which is pretty thorough at blending the matcha powder normally. I have not had this issue with the Matcha Matsu or any of the flavored matcha from David's. Additionally it says online that 2oz should made 45-50 cups using 2-3 spoonfuls, but I have found it can only make 22 cups using just 2 spoonfuls (I use the matcha measuring spoon from David's).

Good matcha, doesn't mix well
I've been drinking a lot of matcha lately. I started mixing plain matcha with the flavored matcha so it's less sweet. I use a milk frother to mix it, and the flavored ones always mix well on their own. The matcha matsu also mixes well with the flavored ones and on its own. There is nothing at the bottom of the cup when I finish drinking. This one always stays in clumps at the bottom of the cup. I know it's this one because I tasted the clumps to figure out which mathca it is, and it's plain and kind of bitter in its concentration. The taste is good when diluted and mixed VERY well, but it just generally doesn't mix/dissolve well. I'll be buying the less expensive matsu to mix with the flavored ones.

I Love the David's Tea Grand Cru Matcha, I make a latte with Coconut Milk and I use Stevia in the raw. It takes a little time to get used to, but it's worth it. It doesn't give me the up/down that tea does. Good luck!

It's not ceremonial grade. It's fairly bitter like supermarket matcha which is a joke given its price.

I only bought 2 OZ because this is best fresh and you can make A LOT out of that. Other matches I have bought come in small thins but the standard David's tea Tin can probably hold 8 OZ of matcha because is such a thin powder. Usually if you buy 4 OZ you get a free Thin or maybe they have one already in a Thin set. Make sure to buy the special ceremonial bamboo mixer, it does help to mix it the right way.
