I was pretty disappointed with how artificial the vanilla tastes though. It makes the whole tea quite bland. I've been experimenting with making it different ways (I bought quite a bit and don't plan on wasting it), and so far I've liked it best with a bit of milk and peppermint extract. This makes it very similar to Santa's Secret Tea, which is one of my all-time favourite teas from DT. Smelling that tea after opening the bag made me wanna try it brewed right away. A sweet vanilla/custard like scent came to my nose... so so good. It's a classic vanilla black tea to me. Think Earl Grey, sans bergamot. Goes well black or with some milk (and likely with sugar, though I haven't added sugar, myself). I experimented with double steeping, but it led to a bitter and less flavourful second cup, so I recommend only brewing once. It definitely screams Christmas morning to me. Someone put it reminds the of monk&rsquo;s blend, I think it has the same creaminess though to me the flavour is more malty. So good! I found the vanilla flavour isn't strong in this one - more like David's Breakfast Blend with a hint of vanilla. Also this one is easy to oversteep - I usually use paper filters for my loose leaf teas and leave the filter in the mug until I'm done with my cup. When I do this to this tea (similar to Cream of Earl Grey, David's Breakfast Blend, Buddha's Blend, etc.), it became so bitter that I have to make it a latte to drink. This is certainly not DT's fault as this is not the proper way to steep tea, but just a heads up for anyone who does it the same way as I do. A nice creamy vanilla flavour without Stevia which made me very happy. I&rsquo;m not a fan of sweeteners so this was perfect. It&rsquo;s now going to be my alternate morning tea going forward.
