Honestly, I bought it because I thought it was cute; I did not anticipate the other benefits. With the lid on, it kept my tea hot for a long time. I locked myself out when shovelling snow, and when I got back in after an hour, it was the perfect drinking temperature. I've seen people say with other double-walled glassed mugs that water gets in between the glass, but I haven't had this problem at all. I took note of the other reviews, so when I recieved mine I checked it over for cracks in the glass and it was all good, and the hole in the bottom is sealed up. When I wash it, I hand wash with a sponge. The glass is borderline thin, like it's thick enough to be ok but any thinner would be too thin. Looks wise though, I think it's so beautiful! I like clear cups so that I can see the tea steeping and the water colour change, but having everything clear gets boring. The stars add some magic! I love sitting with my tea warming my hands and looking at the colour, smelling my tea as it cools. The glass is very thin and delicate feeling. Given this mug is not dishwasher safe, I'm very nervous about breaking the glass. It looks really cute in the stock pictures, but up close it definitely doesn't live up to expectations. Not to mention, although the description mentions that this is made out of glass, it feels like plastic. And not sturdy plastic either, but cheap, thin plastic. Had a couple small ones years ago. This mug holds a lot and has a nice big handle.
