It doesn't taste original at all! It also does not taste like it has rose petals in it, either. While I love Cream of Earl Grey, I was not looking to buy more of it - I wanted a NEW tea... so I was very disappointed in this tea, as a whole. From what I have read, most people (especially longtime super steepers &amp;/or those with tea passions like myself) seem to agree. The rose pairs perfectly with black tea as a dark base for those creamy floral notes. There is nothing artificial in this tea, despite how some other reviewers seem to have reacted - it's just a matter of taste I suppose. If you don't like floral teas this one might not be for you. If you actually read the description then you know davidstea actually blatantly said it's supposed to taste like Cream of Earl Grey minus the bergamot. It made a lovely fragrant rose latte that did not taste too overwhelming or artificial. I was so impressed, I came back to grab the tin because I wanted this to be a part of my staple tea lineup! It has a lovely edge to it as a black tea and each flavour is very distinct. It is a smooth drink that, I think, is better had black or slightly sweetened to enjoy the intensity of the tea. Unfortunately, the praise stops there, as after a few sips the flavours start to swirl into an artificial, perfumed blend. It was be best described by my brother as, &quot;It tastes like hand cream.&quot; Perhaps its the mix of &quot;natural rose flavouring&quot; and &quot;natural cream flavouring&quot; that when put together produces that of an air freshener in your mouth. That said, 2/3 of us felt that way, whereas the other individual was fond of it. I do recommend having it black though, as add-ins do tend to extenuate those unwelcome flavours.
