A distinctive blend of green tea and whole roasted brown rice, Genmaicha is sometimes called “popcorn tea,” after its sprinkling of popped rice grains. Though traditionally drunk by poor Japanese who used the rice as filler when they couldn’t afford enough tea leaves, today everyone is addicted to this green tea’s sweet and toasty roasted rice flavour.
