What makes it great

  • Delicious sipped on its own or mixed into lattes and smoothies.
  • Matcha is a labour of love – it's made by removing the stems and spines of the tea leaves and then grinding the leaf into a fine powder.
  • Because you're ingesting the entire leaf, you get 100% of the benefits, plus an energy boost.

In fact, all the matcha at davidstea is stored this way, which really makes me question the quality of the even higher grade and more expensive teas. Matcha oxidizes quickly, and should be stored in the fridge for maximum longevity. At room temp, it will only last a few weeks before taking on bitter tastes. 2) Color: This was a light yellowish green. Good quality matcha should be a much darker, richer green. Of all the matchas I own, Japanese or otherwise, this was the yellowest one. 3) Taste: Very bitter, but also flat and tasteless. It has very little body or depth of flavour. It tastes like bitter green tea. Good matcha shouldn't be very bitter (again, questionable storage practices) and it should taste vegetal and almost grassy. Matcha matsu was very... undrinkable. Overall, you could use this in baking or in sweet matcha flavoured concoctions, but as a tea to drink? Definitely not. Even the lowest quality &quot;culinary grade&quot; Japanese matcha I own far surpassed this one.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2019-12-05</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2019-12-05" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="221111779"> <meta itemprop="itemReviewed" content="Matcha Matsu" /> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">5</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author">Mamaofone</span> from <span itemprop="name">Love it</span> <span itemprop="description">This is why I went to DAVIDsTEA in the first place and have tried other teas from them since but this is a staple as well as the grand cru matcha</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2019-06-15</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2019-06-15" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="224905112"> <meta itemprop="itemReviewed" content="Matcha Matsu" /> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">3</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author">KateTheVegan</span> from <span itemprop="name">Very tasty, does not mix well</span> <span itemprop="description">I really enjoy the taste of this matcha, but I find that it does not blend well into water or almond milk.
