Birthday Cake Tea

But sometimes you just want something fun, quirky, and a little ridiculous, and this tea was just the thing I was looking for! When dry, it smells a lot like maple, but when you steep it, it tastes a lot more like birthday (funfetti) cake. Bonus that I can drink lots, as it's caffeine free. Will try and keep a small quantity on hand for those days when you just need something cheerful and fun. It's not bad - it does have a subtle birthday cake sprinkle taste to it, but it's not the greatest. If I had to pick between this and Cotton Candy, I'd pick the latter. There isn't quite enough sweetness for me on its own, but I also have a massive sweet tooth and almost always sweeten my tea. The rooibos was a bit of a turn-off in terms of flavour. I feel like overall this tea could have had a little more love put into it in terms of ingredients, but that may just be me. It&rsquo;s great on its own, but I like to mix it with Caramel Shortbread too, for a real nice treat! Mmm, that is really good!! I love it both hot and iced, with cream. On its own I like it both iced and hot too, and also with cream. I have given this as gifts, and definitely recommend this! Once brewed the smell is still strong but less intense than prior to brewing. I added milk to mine as I typically do with teas and it has a nice, smooth taste with sweet notes of that classic icing sugar taste lingering after. You can definitely taste the rooibos though, not that I dislike it. Overall, it is a nice dessert tea! The reason I gave it 4.5 instead of 5 was due to the strong, strong smell that remains even after the tea is gone. (I got a headache from it, but I'm also sensitive to scents so it may just be my problem.) I never thought Birthday Cake flavored anything would top my list but this is IT. Our first tin barely lasted a month before I had to get online and buy more. It is sweet and beautifully fragrant. If you like tea lattes, this one will be your best friend. It's strong enough to push the flavor through and yet not overpowering, just right.
