Tahitian Vanilla Tea

No caffeine which is also important to me. Because there are no stores located within my area anymore (closest 2 hours + away) I can&rsquo;t go to the store and smell teas anymore. When I opened the bag and took a whiff of this it smelled very artificial. I thought I should try it though and prepared the tea. The artificial aroma was even stronger when steeped. I almost gagged. I tried two sips and then threw it down the sink. A very disappointing experience. I won&rsquo;t try any new teas that come out now because I can&rsquo;t smell them ahead of time. Maybe David&rsquo;s teas should have samples that we can try without wasting our money on a bag of tea that will be thrown out. It is very smooth, with hints or notes of apple, vanilla, and nuts (hazel and almond). I would like to say I can also pick up the sesame seeds, but perhaps I am dreaming - easy to do after two mugs of this calming tea. Using a David's tea ball I can get at least two mugs out of one ball, and often a third with good flavor. I find it soothing anytime so often have it first thing, and also often have it at bedtime. Once steeped it has a bold red-brown hue, a gentle aroma, and it invites me to refill my mug. I ordered this tea in search of a nice vanilla flavour blended with the earthy rooibos aroma. Unfortunately I found the stevia in this tea overpowers all other flavours and also adds a bit of an overall artificial flavour to the tea. I enjoyed this alone aswell as in a latte. The flavor is buttery, sweet and creamy like a warm custard. I am waiting to find a really strong vanilla flavour tea. This tea is almost there just needs more vanilla flavour it gets a little lost. Otherwise it&rsquo;s a great tea and I recommend it.
