When mixed, it's great! I top it off with some oat milk to make it creamy (no frother, sadly) and am satisfied with the results. The vanilla is not over powering or fake tasting. A very creamy vanilla. However! I would only recommend this matcha to beginners or those who don&rsquo;t like a strong flavour. Although it&rsquo;s delicious it&rsquo;s not very strong. Some one who really enjoys matcha and the strong grassy flavour may not love this one... but if you&rsquo;re like me and enjoy matcha in baking as well it would be great for that. It's fairly sweet (definitely doesn't need added sweetener), and the flavour isn't very strong (which is why I suppose it recommends using 5 spoons of these flavoured matchas rather than 2 for the regular matchas). I think I liked this one slightly more than the mocha matcha, but I probably wouldn't order either one again, unless they were very on sale. Sad to say it was quite disappointing. First the color was very off-putting - brownish green rather than the bright vibrant green im used to with ceremonial grade. Besides that, didnt taste much like matcha?? It was really strange to me, vegetal is the best way to describe it. Also had to use quite a bit of powder to taste anything at all, just had to keep adding and adding. The vanilla flavour adds a creamy flavour to this deliciously healthy tea. You really don't even need to add any sweetener to it. I make it hot with creamy foam on top for cold days and iced with cold foam on top for hot days. The photo used to advertise this product is entirely misleading, the powder itself isn't that bright (that photo shows more of what is consistent with ceremonial matcha). This powder is a muddier darker green. After pouring in hot water to mix, the powder turns into a green that borders on being brown. Before you ask if my powder was expired (I wondered the same!) - No! It wasn't. I had bought it in-store the day before and even checked the pack to ensure it was still new and well within its shelf life. If you were to use this for baking, perhaps it would work. But definitely nowhere near high-quality enough to enjoy as a drink. I've only had a few matches before (the ceremonial which has been discontinued and the turmeric glow which is also being discontinued) but this is definitely my favourite and will hopefully never be pulled! It is creamy and somehow has a sweet taste to it as well. It's great if you mix it up with some hot water (using their matcha whisk which is also amazing) then pour it into an equal amount of warm milk. No sugar required! It's my go-to before bed! So soothing.
