Kenya is to tea what California is to wine: an upstart with great results. They’ve taken traditional tea grades from Asia and transplanted them to an area near the Rift Valley. There, the sun, rain and mineral-rich earth combine to grow fabulous tea. Plus the estates are situated above the livable habitat of pests, so pesticides aren’t needed. The result is a truly smooth Sencha, with hints of honey.
